The Reconstructionist

The Reconstructionist is out. Or in. Depending on how you look at it. Either way, you can pick it up in digital book stores. It walks through my journey a bit, through deconstruction and into reconstruction. Cuz I think that’s the point… to reconstruct. (Though some have been hurt so bad by the church, they’re not interested in reconstructing. And I can’t even blame them.)

When my life cracked wide open on January 1, 2015, it cracked my theology wide open as well. I’ll never be the same. But then again, I don’t want to be the same. Love got in the cracks, and it changed me. And I’d rather have love than the job, church, or denomination. I’d even rather have love than God.

Of course, you’re ahead of me here because God is love, so there is no such choice to make unless… well unless your definition of God is something less than loving. Which is what I think we mostly have here in America. A God who’s less than loving. And so now we’re back to the choice: yeah, between God and love I’m going with love.

The more I’ve gone with that, the more it’s changed my idea of who God was/is. And it’s made all the difference.

Yeah, I talk about it more in The Reconstructionist. I hope you pick up a copy. (Oh, and the first 100 to do so, who let me know, and who hopefully leave some stars or a review, will get a free copy of Mimetic Cartoonery. I know, what a deal!)

Thanks everyone,

J
